The article that resonated with me the most was "Sketching: the Visual Thinking Power Tool" by Mike Rohde. Personally, I have always been a visual learner and relied on sketches and drawings to help learn. In the recent years, I have been learning how to code, and engaging with web development. In web design, wire framing is immensely important to get the ideas out and experiment with different aspects of a site and its design. In my own creative process, I often will take my iPad, open up one of my sketching apps and just sketch a rough idea of what I am thinking of. From sketching a wireframe to doodling, I think sketching is immensely important in any field because it allows one to let loose the complex ideas that can overpower their minds. It really helps break down ideas and also allows one to play around with aspects of an idea before committing to it. After reading this article, I am definitely going to look into other forms of sketching and alternative platforms I could engage with. I have become very comfortable with using a tablet and paper to sketch and am interested in trying to sketch on whiteboards and chalkboards. I think every aspect and form of sketching brings forth slightly different ideas. A tablet makes it easier to sketch particular things while paper and pen make other sketches easier to do. I would like to see which area of my brain feels most comfortable sketching with chalkboards and whiteboards, if any! If anything, this article has definitely encouraged me to sketch even more than I already do!
